About Me

My name is Rose Anna Marcelli-Najafi. I am an Ontario Certified Teacher and Registered Early Childhood Educator who is currently working for York Region District School Board as a substitute Teacher. I graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in June 2015 with Highest Distinction. I hold Primary, Junior, and Intermediate Qualifications. I am also a Primary Education Specialist. Cumulatively, I have over 8 years of experience working with children in Child Care, Early Intervention, and Classroom settings. In my spare time I like to read and further my professional development through workshops and AQ/ABQ courses. As an educator I strive to maintain a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment where the needs of my students are supported and their interests are fostered. My lessons include inquiry-based, play-based, and experimental/hands on learning experiences that are cross-curricular and linked to real-life experiences. I created this blog because Trista Dutt (@kindiekorner), my teacher partner and former field mentor had inspired me to do so years ago when we were Teaching partners in a Kindergarten classroom. I hope you enjoy learning about my journey and viewing the work I do with my students each day! This post used to end with "as I work toward achieving my goal of becoming an Elementary School Teacher", but I have happily achieved this goal. My new goal is to become a Contract Elementary School Teacher!
